**Bengaluru, January 8, 2025** – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah issued a strong warning to police officers on Wednesday, vowing zero tolerance for any collaboration with the real estate mafia. Speaking at the inauguration of several new police stations and a housing complex in Bengaluru, he emphasized the police force’s responsibility to ensure public safety and instill fear in criminals, not citizens.

While acknowledging a decrease in crime rates, Siddaramaiah cautioned against complacency, stating that inaction allows criminals to operate freely. The newly inaugurated facilities include police stations at Chamarajpet, Cubbon Park, High Grounds, and Pulikeshinagar, along with a housing complex at Pulikeshinagar. He stressed the government’s commitment to supporting the police department with resources and infrastructure to maintain law and order, linking this directly to the state’s development.

Home Minister G. Parameshwara highlighted the Police Housing Corporation’s efforts to improve living conditions for officers, allocating ₹28 lakh for improvements and noting that 46% of planned housing units have been completed under a new scheme. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar also attended the event. The inaugurations took place against a backdrop of the Chief Minister’s firm stance against any corruption within the police force.
