Wed Jan 08 18:45:48 UTC 2025: ## OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Accused of Childhood Sexual Abuse by Sister

**New Delhi, India –** Sam Altman, CEO of the influential artificial intelligence company OpenAI, is facing serious allegations of childhood sexual abuse from his sister, Ann Altman. A lawsuit filed on January 6, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, claims that the abuse occurred repeatedly between 1997 and 2006, starting when Ann was three years old. The lawsuit alleges multiple instances of abuse per week and seeks damages exceeding $75,000.

Ann Altman’s lawsuit follows public accusations she made in November 2021, detailing various forms of abuse allegedly perpetrated by her brothers, Sam and Jack. This is the first time she has pursued legal action against her brother Sam.

Sam Altman, along with his mother and brothers, vehemently denies the allegations in a joint statement, attributing them to Ann’s mental health struggles. They cite past support provided to Ann, including financial assistance and employment opportunities. However, Ann’s attorney, Ryan Mahoney, specializing in sexual assault cases, maintains the allegations are independent of her mental health and argues the family’s statement is an attempt to deflect from the seriousness of the accusations.

The lawsuit comes amid significant scrutiny of Sam Altman and OpenAI. Elon Musk, a former OpenAI co-founder, filed and then refiled a lawsuit against Altman and another co-founder, alleging breaches of contract and fiduciary duty, and claiming OpenAI is prioritizing profit over its original mission. These separate legal battles cast a shadow over Altman’s rapidly growing personal wealth, estimated to be over a billion dollars, further intensifying the pressure surrounding this latest accusation. The case is set for a jury trial.
