**Thrissur, January 9, 2025:** Veteran Malayalam playback singer P. Jayachandran passed away at the age of 80 on January 9th, 2025. He collapsed at his home in Poonkunnathu around 7 PM and was rushed to Amala Hospital in Thrissur, where he was pronounced dead at 7:54 PM. Jayachandran had been battling cancer for several years and had been receiving treatment at Amala Hospital. He was discharged from the hospital only yesterday after a nine-day stay.
The body will be kept for public viewing at his Poonkunnathu residence from 8 AM tomorrow. From 10 AM to 12 PM, the body will be available for public viewing at the Thrissur Sangeetha Nataka Academy. The funeral rites will be performed at his ancestral home in Cherndamangalam, Paravoor, in the evening.
