**PATNA, INDIA** – Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj party, continues his hunger strike despite being admitted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital on Tuesday due to deteriorating health. Doctors express concern about the potential for further complications if he continues his fast.
While his condition is currently stable and he is receiving intravenous nutrition and medication, hospital director Dr. Ravishankar urged Kishor to end his protest, warning of escalating health risks. Despite pleas from doctors, including the administration of new medication, and appeals from former Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Verma and senior advocate Y.V. Giri, Kishor remains steadfast in his refusal to break his fast.
Verma described Kishor’s condition as stable but worrying, highlighting the urgency of ending the hunger strike given its impact on his ability to pursue his political goals in Bihar. Giri, who is working with BPSC candidates to address their concerns through legal means, also appealed to Kishor to end his protest and cooperate in resolving the issue through the courts.
Kishor’s hunger strike is a protest against the Bihar government’s handling of BPSC candidate issues, with accusations of administrative insensitivity levelled against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The situation remains tense as Kishor’s health continues to be a major concern. His continued refusal to break his fast raises serious questions about the long-term implications for both his health and his political activism.
