Tue Jan 07 19:53:44 UTC 2025: ## Prashant Kishor’s Health Deteriorates During Hunger Strike

**PATNA, INDIA** – Prashant Kishor, the political strategist leading the Jan Suraj movement, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Patna on Monday night after his health deteriorated during a six-day hunger strike in support of 70th BPSC candidates. While his condition is currently stable, he remains under observation in the ICU.

Doctors attending to Kishor, including Dr. Ravi Shankar and Dr. Ajit Pradhan, reported that he is suffering from dehydration and gas, exacerbated by a pre-existing kidney stone condition. Dr. Shankar expressed concern that continuing the fast could complicate his health further, urging Kishor to end his protest. Although Kishor is receiving nutritional support and medication, the full impact of the treatment will be assessed on Wednesday. Doctors are hopeful that he will be moved out of the ICU and potentially discharged after further observation.

The doctors stressed that while Kishor’s current condition is stable, they are insisting that he break his fast to aid his recovery. The extent of his recovery and potential discharge will be determined following his Wednesday assessment.
