**Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh:** A missing woman who was the subject of a police complaint alleging she eloped with a beggar has been found safe and has accused her husband of domestic abuse. Rajeshwari, 36, a mother of six, went missing on Friday, prompting her husband Raju to file a police report on Sunday claiming she had left with a local beggar, Nanhe Pandit. Raju alleged that Rajeshwari had taken money he earned from selling a buffalo. Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to kidnapping with the intent to compel marriage or illicit intercourse.

However, Rajeshwari appeared at the Hardoi police station on Tuesday and refuted her husband’s claims. She stated that she had left home due to repeated physical and verbal abuse by her husband and sought refuge with relatives in Farrukhabad. Police have declared the allegations of her eloping with anyone as false and baseless. They are currently investigating Rajeshwari’s claims of domestic abuse and taking further action. The case highlights the ongoing issue of domestic violence in India and the complexities of investigating such situations.
