**Key Contenders and Campaigns:**

The upcoming election sees a three-cornered contest between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, aims for a third consecutive victory, while BJP is striving to wrest power. Congress, contesting alone after a recent alliance with AAP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, hopes to make inroads. AAP has already announced candidates for all 70 seats, while BJP and Congress have announced 29 and 48, respectively. Kejriwal will again contest from New Delhi constituency.

AAP launched its campaign song, “Fir Laenge Kejriwal,” highlighting its achievements in providing electricity and water subsidies and other benefits. The song also mentions promises such as a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 for women above 18 and free medical treatment for senior citizens in both private and government hospitals.

BJP’s campaign focuses on criticizing AAP’s governance, using slogans like “AAP-da nahi sahेंगे, badal kar rahenge” (We won’t tolerate AAP, we will bring change). They are highlighting issues such as the alleged luxury of the Chief Minister’s house, the liquor scam, and Delhi’s pollution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been referring to AAP as “Aapda” (disaster) in his rallies, a phrase the BJP is now using prominently in their campaign.
