Wed Jan 08 03:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Triple Homicide in New Lisbon: Manhunt Underway for Suspect

**New Lisbon, WI** – A massive manhunt is underway for Virgil G. Thew, 47, of New Lisbon, following the discovery of three bodies in a locked bedroom on December 30th. Thew is charged with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kolba (33), and two girls aged 12 and 13.

The investigation began when the father of the 13-year-old girl reported her missing on December 30th. Her Snapchat location led authorities to an apartment in New Lisbon shared by Thew, his mother, and Kolba. Police subsequently discovered the 12-year-old girl was also missing.

Further investigation revealed Thew had been seen trespassing on private property the day before the bodies were discovered. Police impounded his vehicle, finding a handgun in the trunk. Later that day, two individuals searching for the missing girls discovered the three victims deceased in a locked bedroom at Thew’s residence. The door showed signs of forced entry.

Autopsies confirmed all three victims died from gunshot wounds. Thew’s mother was interviewed and stated that Thew, the two girls, Kolba, and Thew’s sister were the only people at the residence in the days following Christmas. His sister confirmed the locked bedroom was off-limits.

The New Lisbon Police Department is urging the public to assist in locating Thew. He is described as 5’11”, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with a 1-inch scar on his forehead. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement immediately and not approach him. The last confirmed sighting of Thew was on January 1st near Orange Road and McEwen Road in the town of Lisbon.
