Wed Jan 08 06:16:23 UTC 2025: **Prashant Kishor Booked in Fresh FIR After Patna Protest**
PATNA, INDIA – Prashant Kishor, the leader of the Jan Suraj Party, has been named in a new FIR filed in Patna Civil Court. The charges stem from a protest at the court and Kishor addressing the media while seated atop a police vehicle. This follows his recent hunger strike demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 69th preliminary exam and other student-related reforms.
Kishor, who began his fast on January 2nd, was hospitalized on Tuesday after his health deteriorated. While initially refusing medical attention, he was eventually taken to Medanta Hospital in an ambulance. A Patna district administration investigation further revealed that the van used by Kishor during his protest lacked proper registration.
On Monday, Kishor was arrested for protesting in a restricted area. Despite being granted conditional bail, he refused it and was later released on unconditional bail. Following his release, Kishor declared his intention to continue his hunger strike, stating that he would explore legal avenues to secure a re-examination for the BPSC exam. He also indicated that a new location for his protest would be announced soon.
