Wed Jan 08 05:51:48 UTC 2025: ## Patna Administration Denies Jail Claim, Says Kishor Held Briefly at Police Station

**Patna, Bihar:** The Patna district administration has refuted claims made by Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishor that he was taken to Beur Jail without proper court orders. In a press release, the administration clarified that Kishor was briefly held at the Beur police station to manage a large crowd gathered outside the court, not at the jail itself.

Kishor, who was arrested in connection with a protest regarding BPSC exam irregularities, had alleged that police lacked the necessary court documents when they detained him. He questioned the government’s response to this alleged procedural lapse.

The administration stated that Kishor was released on a personal bond of ₹25,000 after receiving the court order. His detention at the police station was solely for crowd control purposes while awaiting the formal court order, the release added. The administration accused Kishor of spreading misinformation for political gain.

Kishor’s lawyers had argued that, given the charges against him, he should have been granted bail at the police station and not taken to court. After a second round of arguments, the court removed conditions preventing further protests as part of the bail agreement, a condition Kishor had initially been willing to accept imprisonment to avoid.

The administration’s statement aims to clarify the sequence of events surrounding Kishor’s arrest and release. While the legal process involved a personal bond at the police station after the court order, the administration maintains that no wrongdoing occurred.
