Wed Jan 08 04:12:35 UTC 2025: ## Patna Administration Contradicts Prashant Kishor’s Jail Release Claim
**PATNA, January 7, 2025** – The Patna district administration has refuted claims made by Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj, regarding his recent arrest and release following a hunger strike. Kishor had publicly stated he was taken to Beur Jail without paperwork and subsequently granted unconditional bail.
However, the administration clarified on Tuesday that Kishor was released on bail of ₹25,000, not unconditionally. They explained that he was brought to Beur police station from the civil court to maintain law and order due to the large gathering of his supporters, which was disrupting other court proceedings. While Kishor’s lawyer initially reported a ₹25,000 bond requirement, the administration stated that the bail was granted after the bond was paid following a court order.
The administration further dismissed Kishor’s claims regarding a lack of fitness certificate from a medical examination at the Fatuha Community Health Centre. They stated that a fitness certificate isn’t required for court appearances, only a health report, and that the suggestion of pressure to issue a false report is an attempt to gain cheap popularity.
Finally, the administration clarified that court orders did not declare the Gandhi Maidan Bapu statue area a legal protest site; therefore, the protest itself was unlawful. This contradicts Kishor’s narrative of his arrest and subsequent release.
