**VILLUPURAM, January 7, 2025** – Villupuram police arrested two men Monday night, recovering 35 sovereigns of gold jewellery and ₹1.9 lakh in cash. Mani alias Balakrishnan (38) of Thoothukudi and Selvakumar alias Samuel (40) of Tenkasi, both described as habitual offenders with multiple prior convictions, were apprehended during a routine vehicle check near Janakipuram. The suspects confessed to involvement in at least 35 house break-ins across the state. A motorcycle was also seized. Both men have been remanded to judicial custody following their appearance in a local court.
