**Madurai, January 7, 2025** – A Sub-Inspector of Police (SI) in Madurai has been suspended following allegations of assault. Annadurai, attached to the Palamedu police station, reportedly beat a mechanic, P. Srinivasan (31), from Nilakottai, on Monday.

According to reports, the assault stemmed from Srinivasan’s failure to repair the SI’s motorbike within five months. Srinivasan further alleged that Annadurai demanded the repairs be carried out free of charge. Following a complaint lodged by Srinivasan, Superintendent of Police B.K. Arvind ordered Annadurai’s immediate suspension. The incident is currently under investigation.
