Tue Jan 07 16:10:23 IST 2025: ## Prashant Kishor Hospitalized During Sixth Day of Hunger Strike
**Patna, Bihar:** Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Patna on Monday after his health deteriorated during his sixth day of a hunger strike. While doctors have stated his condition is not critical, he was shifted from the emergency department to the ICU for observation and treatment. Blood and urine samples have been taken for testing. He is reportedly refusing food, despite previously stating his fast would continue.
Kishor’s protest is in support of the demands of BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) exam aspirants who are protesting against alleged irregularities in the 70th PT exam. A Supreme Court hearing on the matter is scheduled for today. Following his release from police custody on Monday evening, Kishor reiterated his commitment to the hunger strike, although the location is yet to be decided. His team has announced their intention to continue the protest, hinting at a shift in location following their earlier removal from Gandhi Maidan.
Meanwhile, the opposition’s protests continue, with MP Pappu Yadav announcing a Bihar bandh on January 12th in solidarity with the students.
Bihar’s BJP spokesperson, Dilip Jaiswal, commented on the situation, stating that the government is sensitive to the BPSC candidates’ concerns and is conducting a thorough investigation into the exam irregularities. He dismissed claims that Kishor is a “B team” of the BJP.
Kishor’s ongoing fast and hospitalization highlight the escalating tensions surrounding the BPSC exam controversy and the growing political pressure on the Bihar government.
