Tue Jan 07 12:46:25 UTC 2025: ## Bihar Activist Prashant Kishor Hospitalized After Hunger Strike Arrest

**Patna, Bihar, January 7, 2025** – Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, arrested and later released on bail for an illegal hunger strike, was hospitalized on Tuesday for dehydration and other medical issues. A doctor visiting Kishor’s home advised immediate hospitalization after diagnosing him with an infection, dehydration, weakness, and general discomfort.

Kishor, who began his hunger strike on January 2nd to support civil service aspirants protesting alleged irregularities in recent Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams, was arrested on Monday for violating a Patna High Court order regarding protest locations. Despite his hospitalization, he insists his fast will continue.

Party officials transported Kishor to a private medical facility in Patna via ambulance. The arrest followed an FIR filed last week against Kishor for his hunger strike at Gandhi Maidan, a location prohibited by the court. He was subsequently released on bail. The ongoing protest by civil service aspirants focuses on demands for the cancellation of the allegedly compromised BPSC exams.
