**LOUISVILLE, KY** – Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), Kentucky’s largest school district, will remain closed through Wednesday following a record-breaking snowstorm that dumped nearly 10 inches of snow on Louisville Sunday. The district initially announced a snow day for Monday, but extended the closure due to continued icy conditions and significant snowfall.
The blizzard, the city’s worst in over 20 years, brought accumulating snow and ice throughout the weekend and into Monday. All athletic and extracurricular activities are also cancelled for JCPS to allow families and staff ample time to prepare for the extended closure.
