**New Delhi, India** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a significant strengthening of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership following a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Monday. The meeting, which took place just two weeks before Donald Trump’s upcoming presidential inauguration, focused on deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.

PM Modi, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted advancements in technology, defense, space, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence as key areas of progress. He expressed optimism for continued growth in the bilateral relationship, emphasizing the benefits for both nations and the global community.

Sullivan’s visit included extensive talks with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. A central topic of discussion was the implementation of the US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), launched in May 2022 by Prime Minister Modi and President Biden to boost collaboration in critical technologies.

The discussions built upon a series of initiatives unveiled last year to enhance cooperation in semiconductors, critical minerals, advanced telecommunications, and defense. Sullivan’s trip follows a recent six-day visit to the US by External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, further underscoring the intensified engagement between the two nations.
