NORMAN, Okla. — The Oklahoma Sooners men’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, a decisive 107-79 defeat at the hands of No. 5 Alabama. This resulted in a five-spot drop in the AP Poll to No. 17, ending their undefeated streak. The Sooners also fell to No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The loss marked the first time in four seasons under Coach Porter Moser that the Sooners allowed over 94 points. A particularly rough performance included being out-rebounded 51-26, giving up 22 offensive rebounds, and struggling offensively, especially guard Jeremiah Fears, who scored only one point in the first half.

Oklahoma now faces a challenging schedule, hosting No. 10 Texas A&M on Wednesday before a road game against Georgia on Saturday. They join several other SEC teams in the AP Top 25, including No. 1 Tennessee (the only remaining undefeated team), No. 2 Auburn, and No. 5 Alabama.
