Tue Jan 07 16:28:37 UTC 2025: ## Thrilling Finish Expected at Kerala School Arts Festival
**Thiruvananthapuram, January 7, 2025** – The 63rd Kerala State School Arts Festival is nearing its exciting conclusion, with Thrissur currently leading the race for the Gold Cup. The penultimate day saw large crowds captivated by the performances, particularly the highly popular Group Dance competition. The Central Stadium was filled with spectators enthralled by the synchronized and graceful dance routines from numerous school teams.
Drama also proved a major draw, with a particularly moving performance by students from Vellarmala GVHSS, Wayanad, who presented an adaptation of Thakazhi’s “Vellappokkathil.” The play held special significance, given the school’s recent experience with last July’s devastating landslide.
Other highlights included impressive displays of classical dance, with Rakhin Regunath’s Kuchipudi performance as Seetha drawing considerable attention. Folk Song (Nadan Pattu) and Mono Act also received enthusiastic responses from the audience.
With only 14 events remaining, the competition is incredibly tight. Thrissur currently leads with 945 points, narrowly edging out defending champion Kannur (943 points). Palakkad (941), Kozhikode (939), and Malappuram (916) are hot on their heels, making for a nail-biting finish.
