Tue Jan 07 11:55:24 UTC 2025: ## DMK Protests Governor Ravi’s Actions in Tamil Nadu
**Erode, Tamil Nadu –** Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party members staged a demonstration in Erode on Tuesday, condemning Governor R.N. Ravi’s conduct in the state assembly. The protest follows Governor Ravi’s walkout from the assembly for a second consecutive session, a move the DMK characterized as a dereliction of his constitutional duties and an act of disrespect towards the House and the people of Tamil Nadu.
DMK officials accused Governor Ravi of attempting to operate a parallel government with the support of the central government. Protestors chanted slogans demanding his recall, criticizing his handling of the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu (state anthem) and alleging humiliation of the assembly.
The demonstration also targeted the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), accusing its general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of supporting the Governor and secretly allying with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The protest was led by Erode North District secretary N. Nallasivam and included prominent party figures such as Erode MP K.E. Prakash, Mayor S. Nagarathinam, and Deputy Mayor V. Selvaraj.
