Mon Jan 06 16:52:09 UTC 2025: ## Government to Decide on Sugar MSP Hike Soon

**New Delhi, January 6, 2025** – The Indian government will soon decide whether to raise the minimum support price (MSP) for sugar, according to Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. The current MSP of ₹31 per kg, set in February 2019, is under pressure from industry bodies citing rising production costs.

Minister Joshi confirmed that the government is considering these demands and will announce a decision shortly.
