Mon Jan 06 22:10:00 UTC 2025: **Georgia Bulldogs Lose Another Key Player to Transfer Portal**
ATHENS, GA – Georgia Bulldogs sophomore outside linebacker Damon Wilson announced his intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Instagram, marking the ninth Bulldog to leave the program via the portal this offseason. Wilson, a Florida native, saw significant playing time in 2022, appearing in all 14 games and recording 20 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss. He served as the primary backup to Chaz Chambliss.
His departure leaves Georgia with only two scholarship outside linebackers – Gabe Harris and Quintavious Johnson – returning for the upcoming season. While the Bulldogs recently signed three outside linebackers in their latest recruiting class, Wilson’s transfer adds to the roster uncertainty facing the team. The deadline for players to enter the transfer portal is Tuesday, after which there will be a ten-day window in mid-April. Wilson’s move follows other notable departures, including Julian Humphrey, Jamal Jarrett, and several others. The team, however, recently added brothers Zachariah and Zion Branch from USC.
