Mon Jan 06 21:55:03 IST 2025: ## Bengaluru Family of Four Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide

**Bengaluru, India** – A family of four, including a former software consultant and his wife, were found dead in their rented Bengaluru home on Monday morning, in what police are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide.

Anup Kumar (38), his wife Rakhi (35), and their two children, 5-year-old Anupriya and 2-year-old Priyansh, were discovered deceased by neighbours after their house help raised concerns over a lack of response. Preliminary investigations suggest Anup and Rakhi may have poisoned or smothered their children before taking their own lives by hanging. The exact cause of the children’s deaths is pending autopsy results.

The family, originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, had been reportedly struggling with financial and emotional pressures. Anup, who had recently quit his job as a software consultant a month prior, had allegedly been cheated by a relative in a business investment. The couple also faced significant stress due to their elder daughter Anupriya’s special needs.

While no suicide note has been found, police have launched a full investigation. The family employed three domestic helpers, highlighting the challenges faced despite their financial standing. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community and underscores the silent struggles faced by some families.
