Mon Jan 06 06:54:14 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Court Postpones Verdict in Imran Khan Corruption Case
**Islamabad, January 6, 2025** – A Pakistani anti-corruption court has postponed its verdict in the high-profile Al-Qadir Trust case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The ruling, originally scheduled for January 6th, has been adjourned until January 13th due to the judge being on leave.
The case centers around allegations that Khan and Bibi misused £190 million (approximately PKR 50 billion) returned to Pakistan by the UK’s National Crime Agency. The funds, intended for the national treasury, were allegedly diverted for the personal benefit of a property tycoon who assisted in establishing Al-Qadir University. Bibi, a trustee of the trust, is accused of benefiting from the settlement, including acquiring land for the university.
The postponement comes amidst ongoing negotiations between the government and Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party to resolve political instability stemming from the imprisonment of several PTI leaders. Two rounds of talks have already taken place, with a third expected this week. Khan and Bibi, along with six others, were charged by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in December 2023. However, only Khan and Bibi are currently facing prosecution as the other accused are reportedly out of the country.
