**Chennai, January 6, 2025** – Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi departed from the state Assembly on Monday without delivering his customary address. Immediately following his departure, Speaker M. Appavu read the Tamil version of the Governor’s pre-approved speech to the Assembly. Subsequently, a resolution was passed, via voice vote, to include only the approved speech in the official Assembly records.
Leader of the House Duraimurugan noted this was not an isolated incident, referencing similar occurrences in the past two years where the Governor had deviated from the prepared text. While other states have handled similar situations differently, Mr. Duraimurugan emphasized the Chief Minister’s commitment to upholding established traditions. The Assembly proceedings concluded with the playing of the national anthem.
