**Anand, Gujarat (January 5, 2025)** – The Ministry of Railways has released a video showcasing the construction progress of the Anand bullet train station in Gujarat. The video, shared on the ministry’s official X account, offers a glimpse of both the interior and exterior design of the station, highlighting the project’s advancement.
The tweet accompanying the video stated, “Marching ahead with unwavering progress, the modern symphony of speed and advanced Rail infra takes shape at Anand #BulletTrain Station, Gujarat.”
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, currently under construction, is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The 508km route, featuring ten stations including Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, and Ahmedabad, will allow for a maximum speed of 320 km per hour, cutting travel time to approximately two hours.
A key milestone was announced in 2023: the completion of the first 50km section between Bilimora and Surat, slated for August 2026. Upon full operation, the line will utilize 35 bullet trains, offering around 70 daily trips, with plans to increase to 105 trains by 2050. An estimated 1.6 crore passengers are projected to use the line annually.
The project, estimated at ₹1.08 lakh crore, is being funded through a combination of central government contribution (₹10,000 crore), state government contributions from Gujarat and Maharashtra (₹5,000 crore each), and a loan from Japan at a low interest rate of 0.1 percent.
