MUMBAI, INDIA – January 6, 2025 – ITC shares began trading ex-demerger today, reflecting the separation of its hotels business, ITC Hotels. A special pre-open session on the BSE and NSE determined the initial price of ITC Hotels shares at ₹455.60. This resulted in an adjustment of ITC’s share price by approximately 5.5%, settling at ₹455.60 on the NSE and ₹455 on the BSE.
The demerger ratio is 1:10, meaning ITC shareholders receive one ITC Hotels share for every ten ITC shares held. The record date for the demerger was today, January 6th, with the effective date being January 1st, 2025. While ITC Hotels will be included in the Nifty 50 and Sensex indices at the discovered price, its weighting will be based on a constant price until its separate listing, which is yet to be announced.
