Sun Jan 05 03:45:51 UTC 2025: ## Balochistan Bus Bombing Kills Four, Injures 32

**KARACHI, PAKISTAN –** A bomb attack on a passenger bus in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Saturday killed four people and injured 32 others, police said. The improvised explosive device detonated near the bus traveling from Karachi to Turbat city, in the New Bahman area.

Among the casualties were passengers attending a wedding party, including a high-ranking police officer, SSP Zohaib Mohsin, and his family. While police are investigating, early reports suggest the officer may have been the intended target. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned separatist group, claimed responsibility for the attack, though their reported casualty figures were higher and they claimed the target was a military convoy.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the bombing, denouncing the perpetrators as inhuman. The province, home to Pakistan’s Baloch minority, has long been the scene of an insurgency with various separatist groups carrying out attacks, primarily against security forces. The BLA’s claim highlights the ongoing conflict in the region.
