Mon Jan 06 17:09:27 UTC 2025: ## Award-Winning Kannada Film “Matangi Deewatige” to Screen in Belagavi

**Belagavi, January 6, 2025** – The award-winning Kannada film *Matangi Deewatige* will have a free screening at Kannada Bhavan theatre in Belagavi this Saturday. Based on the autobiography of sociologist Samatha Deshmane, the film tells the inspiring story of a Dalit farm worker raising his daughters to become educated and confident women.

The film stars Dada Saheb Chougale, D. Hanumakka, Srinivasa Prabhu, M.D. Kaushik, Shankaraiah Ghanti, and Vijayalakshmi Deshmane. Director Manju Pandavapura will be in attendance, along with KLE Society chairman Prabhakar Kore and journalist Sarjoo Katkar. Only one screening is scheduled.
