**New Delhi, January 6, 2025** – The Indian National Congress today unveiled the “Pyari Didi Yojana,” pledging a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to all women in Delhi if the party wins the upcoming Assembly elections. The announcement was made by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who cited the success of a similar scheme in Karnataka as a model.
Shivakumar stated that the scheme aims to empower women financially and promised its implementation at the first cabinet meeting of a Congress-led Delhi government. The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February. The announcement was attended by Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav and the party’s Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin. The initiative mirrors a successful program already in place in Karnataka, underlining the Congress’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
