**ALAPPUZHA, January 5, 2025** – Punnapra police have arrested a woman, Jyothi of Punnapra South in Alappuzha, for sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl. Jyothi, who worked as a housemaid in Dubai, allegedly abused the child repeatedly between 2021 and June 2024. The case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint filed by the victim’s family. A police team apprehended Jyothi in Idukki district.
