**Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh:** A shocking incident unfolded at a wedding ceremony in the Khajni area of Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, leaving a 40-year-old groom heartbroken and significantly out of pocket. Kamlesh Kumar, a farmer from Govindpur village, was marrying for a second time following the death of his first wife. However, his bride disappeared mid-ceremony at the Shiv Temple in Bharohiya, taking with her jewellery, cash, and leaving Kamlesh to face the consequences.
Kumar alleges that he paid a mediator Rs 30,000 to facilitate the marriage and had already gifted his bride sarees, beauty products, and jewellery, in addition to covering the wedding expenses. The bride and her mother vanished during the ceremony after the bride excused herself to the restroom.
A distraught Kumar, who sought help from local media, stated his intention was to rebuild his family but instead he has lost everything. Police have confirmed that no formal complaint has yet been filed, but Superintendent of Police, South, Jitendra Kumar stated that the matter will be investigated should a complaint be lodged.
