**Raipur, Chhattisgarh:** Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao has accused former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of complicity in the murder of Mukesh Chandrakar, a young journalist from Bijapur district. Chandrakar, who exposed a ₹120 crore road construction scam, was murdered, and Sao alleges that the Congress party is responsible.
In a tweet, Sao directly targeted Baghel, stating that “Shouting doesn’t make lies the truth, Bhupesh ji! The Congress mantra is to crush anyone who exposes their corruption. That’s exactly what a Congress contractor did to the brave journalist Mukesh.” He further criticized those defending the accused contractor, questioning their morality.
Sao, who also holds the Public Works Department (PWD) portfolio, implied that his position gives him insight into the case and suggests a cover-up. While initially hesitant to politicize the case pending justice for Chandrakar, Sao stated that the BJP’s reaction was compelled by the actions of BJP leaders. The ongoing investigation into Chandrakar’s murder continues.
