Sun Jan 05 15:20:00 IST 2025: ## Tottenham Sign Czech Keeper to Solve Goalkeeping Crisis

**London, January 5, 2025** – Tottenham Hotspur have addressed their critical goalkeeping shortage with the £12.5 million signing of Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague. The 21-year-old Czech Republic U21 international has signed a contract until 2031.

The move comes after a weekend of turmoil for Spurs, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United with a depleted squad. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is injured, and backup Fraser Forster was absent due to illness, forcing 25-year-old Brandon Austin into his senior debut.

Kinsky, who boasts 12 clean sheets in 19 league appearances for Slavia Prague this season, is expected to provide much-needed stability to Tottenham’s backline.

The club’s goalkeeping woes highlight a wider issue of squad depth. Injuries to key players like Richarlison and Wilson Odobert, coupled with the less-than-ideal deployment of Archie Gray at centre-back, have prompted Spurs to seek reinforcements in several positions this January transfer window. While the club remains keen to welcome back Richarlison from injury, they are also exploring options in central midfield and forward positions. The arrival of 18-year-old South Korean winger Min-Hyeok Yang, who joined on January 1st, is viewed as a longer-term investment.
