**London, England –** Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of securing the services of 21-year-old Czech goalkeeper Antonín Kinsky from Slavia Prague, according to multiple sources. The deal, expected to be finalized today, will reportedly cost the Premier League club over £10 million, including add-ons and bonuses. Kinsky is set to sign a contract until 2030.
Kinsky’s impressive form with Slavia Prague, where he’s recorded 12 clean sheets in 19 league games, has caught the eye of Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. The young goalkeeper is not expected to be a backup, but rather a challenger for the starting position. This move comes after Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, suffered a right ankle injury in November and is not expected to return until the end of February. Fraser Forster has filled in during Vicario’s absence.
Postecoglou, while previously stating that the club wouldn’t sign a free agent goalkeeper, confirmed on Friday that Tottenham are actively working to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window, acknowledging the challenges inherent in winter signings. Kinsky, though a youth international, has also been called up to the Czech senior squad.
Slavia Prague has yet to comment publicly on the transfer. The acquisition of Kinsky signals Tottenham’s intent to bolster their goalkeeping options and compete for a strong finish to the season.
