Sun Jan 05 13:48:24 UTC 2025: ## Calicut University Exam Irregularities Spark Investigation
**Kozhikode, Kerala – January 5, 2025** – A Syndicate member of the University of Calicut has accused the university of serious lapses in the first-semester postgraduate examinations held on January 1st. P. Rasheed Ahammed, in a letter to Vice-Chancellor P. Raveendran, alleges irregularities in the online distribution of question papers.
Reports indicate that some affiliated colleges received the papers as early as 8 a.m., while others did not receive them until after 10:30 a.m., despite the exam commencing at 10 a.m. This deviation from the standard practice of distributing papers two hours prior to the exam has raised concerns about potential exam paper leaks.
Mr. Ahammed highlighted the disruption caused by the delayed distribution, stressing the added stress placed on students and faculty. The disparity in distribution times, he argues, necessitates an immediate and thorough investigation into whether the issue stems from a technical fault or deliberate interference.
The Syndicate member emphasized the importance of upholding the university’s reputation, which hinges on the efficient conduct of examinations, timely results, and accurate certificate issuance. He called for accountability and the implementation of robust measures to prevent future irregularities. Any evidence of question paper leakage must be addressed swiftly to maintain the integrity of the examination process, he added. The university has yet to respond to the allegations.
