Sat Jan 04 17:25:26 UTC 2025: ## SBI Opens New Branches in Vellore, Donates to Leprosy Centre

**Vellore, January 4, 2025** – The State Bank of India (SBI) expanded its reach in Vellore district on Saturday, inaugurating new branches in Poigai village and Walajah. The openings were presided over by Parminder Singh, Chief General Manager of SBI’s Chennai Circle, along with other senior officials.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, SBI donated ₹14.2 lakh to the Schieffelin Institute of Health Research and Leprosy Centre in Vellore. The funds will be used to purchase new X-ray machines. Mr. Singh also met with representatives from VIT University and Christian Medical College during his visit.
