**New Delhi, January 5, 2025** – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a search operation on Saturday, December 4, 2024, at the residence of a recently arrested suspect in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, as part of an ongoing investigation into a large-scale human trafficking and cyber slavery operation. The raid yielded the seizure of digital devices and incriminating financial documents, including debit cards, passbooks, and cheque books from multiple banks.
The NIA statement revealed that the criminal conspiracy involved sending vulnerable Indian youth to the Golden Triangle Region of Laos, where they were forced into committing cyber scams against European and US citizens. Kamran Haider, a key accused, allegedly facilitated the entire operation and extorted money from victims attempting to escape via cryptocurrency wallets. The investigation is ongoing.
