HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Hyderabad Demolition and Removal agency (Hydra) continued its crackdown on illegal constructions in the city on Sunday, demolishing a five-story building in Madhapur. The structure, located on a 100-foot road near the main highway and belonging to the Ayyappa Society, had been deemed illegal by the High Court following a notice issued by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) last year.
Before the demolition, Hydra Commissioner Rangnath inspected the building on Saturday. On Sunday, Hydra officials, using bulldozers, carried out the demolition. Electricity supply to the area was temporarily cut off, and police were deployed to manage traffic and ensure smooth operations. The demolition was completed without major incident.
