Fri Jan 03 12:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Hoda Kotb Bids Farewell to TODAY Show with Week-Long Celebration and Live Audience
**NEW YORK, NY** – After nearly a decade as co-anchor of the *TODAY* show, Hoda Kotb is preparing for her departure, with her final day set for January 10, 2025. The show will mark the occasion with a week-long celebration culminating in a live broadcast from Studio 8G at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
The special episode, dubbed a “Hoda-bration,” will feature surprises and a live audience, tickets for which sold out in mere minutes. While tickets are no longer available, viewers can still watch the farewell broadcast from home.
Kotb announced her decision to leave in September, citing her desire to spend more time with her daughters, Haley and Hope, and pursue new opportunities. The 60th birthday celebration in August solidified her decision to embrace a new chapter, she said. Kotb intends to focus on the wellness space, stating she’s “been so turned on by the wellness space” and has several projects percolating.
Craig Melvin will take over as co-anchor alongside Savannah Guthrie starting January 13th, 2025. Melvin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, while Kotb voiced her full support, stating that he is “literally made for this job.” He will continue his role in the 3rd hour of TODAY. However, the fourth hour will relaunch as *TODAY Jenna & Friends*, featuring Jenna Bush Hager and rotating guest co-hosts.
Kotb reassured viewers that she will remain part of the NBC family, though the specifics of her future role haven’t been revealed. She is eager to experience the “simplest things,” such as walking her children to school. She described her transition as “repotting,” a term she borrowed from Maria Shriver, and expressed excitement for new adventures.
