Fri Jan 03 15:06:07 UTC 2025: ## Thrissur Photographer’s Unique Exhibition Blends Photography and Painting

**THRISSUR, Kerala, January 3, 2025** – A captivating art exhibition showcasing the unique fusion of photography and painting is currently underway at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi’s art gallery in Thrissur. The exhibition, titled “Varnakazcha,” features approximately 50 paintings by 75-year-old K.K. Ravindran, a veteran photographer, artist, and Pulikkali body-art expert.

Ravindran, a former Thrissur Fine Arts College student and newspaper photographer, rekindled his passion for painting during the pandemic. He began transforming his extensive collection of photographs – capturing diverse scenes from serene landscapes to the harsh realities of disasters – into vibrant canvases. This exhibition marks his first foray into exhibiting this unique blend of his two art forms.

The exhibition, inaugurated by Revenue Minister K. Rajan, offers a mesmerizing exploration of how photography and painting can intertwine, adding layers of depth and emotion to captured moments. Some paintings feature enhanced imagination, transforming snapshots into unforgettable visual experiences.

“Varnakazcha” will run until January 6th and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This exhibition is a testament to Ravindran’s decades-long involvement in the arts and his innovative approach to creative expression.
