Fri Jan 03 10:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana PSC Delays Recruitment Due to Overburden, Says Chairman

**Hyderabad, [Date]** – The Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is facing delays in recruitment processes due to an excessive workload, according to Chairman Burra Venkatesham. He stated that the commission is burdened with non-core responsibilities, leading to significant delays in releasing results and conducting appointments following competitive examinations.

Venkatesham highlighted that the certificate verification process alone takes three to four months, further delaying the release of general merit lists. This, he said, impacts candidate trust and increases litigation. To address these issues, the TSPSC is proposing a reform plan to the state government.

The proposal includes relieving the commission of certain responsibilities, such as certificate verification and merit list preparation, to expedite the recruitment process. The commission aims to release results within a week of the exam conclusion, mirroring the efficiency of other state PSCs and the UPSC.

The TSPSC also seeks financial autonomy and a streamlined process for identifying and filling vacancies. They’ve suggested that the government provide a list of vacancies in all departments by March each year, allowing for timely notifications and recruitment drives starting in April.

Venkatesham confirmed that the commission is studying the UPSC and other state PSCs’ recruitment methods to improve efficiency and transparency. A detailed proposal outlining these reforms will be submitted to the government shortly. The goal is to ensure a swift, accurate, and transparent recruitment process for all government jobs in Telangana.
