**Chennai, January 3, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government has announced a Pongal bonus for its employees and pensioners. In a release issued Thursday, the government stated that employees in the ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories, including teachers, will receive a bonus of up to ₹3,000. Full-time or part-time employees earning consolidated pay, honorarium, or fixed pay and working at least 240 days annually will receive ₹1,000. Pensioners from the ‘C’ and ‘D’ groups, family pensioners, and those who retired as village officers or assistants will each receive a ₹500 Pongal gift. The announcement was made at the direction of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
