**Bengaluru, January 3, 2025** – A water pipeline leak occurred at Kempegowda International Airport’s (KIA) Terminal 2 on January 1st, affecting some back offices of airlines and ground handling agencies. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) confirmed the incident, stating that the leak, located on Level 1, was quickly resolved with minimal disruption.

Airport operations remained unaffected, and BIAL provided alternative office spaces to impacted partners. While this is not the first water leak at the newly built Terminal 2, previous incidents were attributed to heavy rainfall. The ₹5,000 crore terminal, spanning 255,661 square meters, opened recently and was designed by New York-based firm SOM. BIAL apologized for any inconvenience caused and reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and comfort.
