Bhubaneswar, January 3, 2025 – The Odisha government announced a significant bureaucratic reshuffle today, transferring five key officials, including Chief Minister’s private secretary Arindam Dakua. Dakua, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the director of municipal administration and ex-officio additional secretary of the housing and urban development department. Notably, the post of private secretary to the Chief Minister remains unfilled following this move. Dakua had only been appointed to the position in July 2024.
Other changes include NBS Rajput, the principal secretary to the governor, assuming additional charge of the public enterprise department’s principal secretary. Temjenwapag Ao, the commissioner-cum-secretary of the public enterprise department, has been appointed special secretary of the planning and convergence department. Bhupendra Singh Poonia, managing director of IPICOL (investment promotion entity), will additionally serve as commissioner-cum-secretary of the skill development department, special secretary of the industries department, and managing director of IDCO (infrastructure development agency). Finally, Prem Chaudhary, director of the agriculture department, has been named director of textiles and handlooms, retaining his additional charge as managing director of the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. The reshuffle was announced by the general administration & public grievances department.
