Fri Jan 03 13:23:49 UTC 2025: **ITC to Boost Organic Farming in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya District**

**Rayachoti, Andhra Pradesh, January 3, 2025** – ITC Limited is launching a major initiative to promote organic farming in Annamayya district, focusing on mango, papaya, and banana cultivation. The company aims to address the growing demand for organic produce by supporting local farmers already using natural farming methods and those willing to transition.

ITC’s southern region development manager, Purushottam, recently visited the farm of Siva, a mango farmer in Nutanakalva village, to assess his techniques. Purushottam highlighted the significant gap between consumer demand for organic products and the current supply, emphasizing ITC’s role in bridging this gap.

The program will include providing farmers with technical training, financial support through input subsidies, and, in the case of mango cultivation, supplying two-to-three-year-old mango trees. A testing agency, managed by Annamayya district’s Bodeshawali, an expert in natural farming, will identify suitable farmers within the Piler Assembly constituency. Farmers interested in participating can contact Mr. Bodeshawali at 9703635827.

ITC plans to officially launch its organic farming operations in Piler in time for the upcoming mango season. The initiative signifies a significant commitment by ITC to sustainable agricultural practices and increased access to organic food.
