Fri Jan 03 10:32:15 UTC 2025: ## Hyundai Unveils Creta EV, Set for India Launch at Auto Expo

**NEW DELHI** – Hyundai has finally revealed its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Creta EV. Following weeks of teasers, the South Korean automaker has released official images and specifications. The Creta EV will officially launch at the India Mobility Global Expo, starting January 17th, with pricing expected to be announced at the same time.

The Creta EV largely retains the design of its petrol and diesel counterparts, with most body panels unchanged. Key differences include new soft-plastic parts, pixelated front and rear bumpers, a traditional covered front grille, and aero-optimized alloy wheels—the front bumper bears a resemblance to the N Line variant. The charging port is located at the front.

Hyundai is incorporating advanced technology, including a sensor-based digital key that allows operation via smartphone. Inside, the Creta EV features a dual 10.25-inch screen setup and a steering wheel inspired by the Kona Electric. A new floating center console design is also included.

Three driving modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport) are offered via a steering column-mounted selector, similar to the Ioniq 5. Hyundai claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds (long-range version). A Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature allows powering external devices using the car’s battery.

Two battery pack options are available: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. Hyundai claims a range of 390km for the smaller battery and 473km for the larger one. Charging times are estimated at 58 minutes (10-80% DC charging) and 4 hours (10-100% with an 11kW AC wall box charger). A panoramic sunroof is also included.

The Creta EV will be offered in four variants – Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence – with eight monotone and two dual-tone color options, including three matte colors. Bookings are expected to commence around January 26th. The Creta EV will directly compete with upcoming electric vehicles such as the Maruti e-Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Curvv EV. The pricing will be a key factor in its market success.
