**Meerut, Uttar Pradesh:** Two young brothers, ages three and five, bravely walked into a Meerut police station on Tuesday, seeking help for their mother who is allegedly subjected to domestic violence. The children, visibly distressed, reported that their father, Ejaz, frequently assaults their mother, Nisha.
According to Pilokhari outpost in-charge Rahul Yadav, officers calmed the children with sweets and then learned the family lived in Shyam Nagar. The boys explained that their parents frequently argued, and Ejaz would physically abuse Nisha whenever she protested. Following a recent incident of violence, the children, feeling desperate, decided to seek police assistance.
Police subsequently verified the allegations by sending officers to the family’s home, where they spoke with both parents and neighbors. Neighbors confirmed the frequent arguments and instances of Ejaz assaulting Nisha, particularly noting her past threats to report him to the police. It was revealed that Nisha had previously instructed her children to seek police help if necessary.
Following the verification, police counseled both Ejaz and Nisha, and warned Ejaz of potential legal consequences should further violence occur. The incident highlights the bravery of the young children and underscores the ongoing issue of domestic violence.
