Thu Jan 02 14:40:08 UTC 2025: ## MP Lays Foundation Stone for Thuraiyur Sewage Treatment Plant

**Tiruchi, January 2, 2025** – Perambalur Member of Parliament K.N. Arun Nehru inaugurated several development projects in Tiruchi district today, including the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new sewage treatment plant (STP) in Thuraiyur.

The ₹9.5 crore STP, located on Sorathur Road, will have a capacity of treating one million liters of sewage daily. Its primary goal is to prevent untreated sewage from flowing into Chinna Eri. The plant will utilize a sludge drying bed for dewatering.

Mr. Nehru also laid the foundation stone for a ₹4.26 crore geo dome hostel and other facilities at Top Sengattupatti on the Pachamalai hills. Additionally, he inaugurated various projects implemented by the District Rural Development Agency in Uppiliyapuram Panchayat Union. Tiruchi Collector M. Pradeep Kumar, Thuraiyur MLA S. Stalin Kumar, and senior officials were present at the events.
