**Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, January 2, 2025** – Union Minister for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, concluded a three-day visit to Kadapa district on Thursday, focusing on empowering women through entrepreneurship. During his visit, he interacted with members of self-help groups (SHGs) in Moragudi village, emphasizing the government’s commitment to poverty alleviation and gender parity.
Minister Singh highlighted initiatives aimed at identifying and nurturing the talent of rural women, providing skill-upgradation programs, and facilitating their entry into e-commerce. He engaged with women showcasing locally produced food items, spices, handloom products, and millets. The Minister also inaugurated a central kitchen at Moragudi Zilla Parishad High School.
Kadapa District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri stated that the initiative, aligning with Kadapa’s “aspiration district” status, aims to boost rural development and women’s empowerment. He highlighted the success of local women producing hundreds of products and their potential to become global businesswomen. Jammalamadugu MLA Ch. Adinarayana Reddy added that several women are being supported to establish businesses in agriculture, industry, and food processing, emphasizing the constituency’s significant contributions to the district’s infrastructure.
In addition to his meetings with SHGs, Minister Singh inspected the Ayushman Arogya Mandir and visited the Gandikota tourism spot.
